CommuniPix is a way to help non-verbal children communicate using pictures.
CommuniPix’s personalized system allows you to either augment your existing picture exchange library or create an entirely new one. Click the Community link to upload and share images, create and order CommuniPix Decks.

Therapists and parents appreciate how easy it is for children to identify with pictures of the things in their world.
Children rapidly learn how to use CommuniPix images to communicate their needs. As they become older, they use them to make sentences to convey complex ideas. People also use them to help teach processes like dressing, eating, and play.

CommuniPix was developed by Rori and James Lockman.
When we learned that our toddler son, Zeke, has autism, we searched for ways to help ease the frustration he felt when asking for things around the home.
Because he was nonverbal, he could not tell us what he wanted. Eric Diamond, MS. Ed, BCBA, a family friend who works in early child development suggested using pictures at meal times to help him request his favorite foods. Since we owned a digital print shop, we were able to print the photos onto magnets. This enabled us to use them on the refrigerator door along side the numbers and letters Zeke loves so much. His response to the cards was so positive that we expanded the library to include food, family, and environmental items.

CommuniPix won a Xerox Pixi Award!
The ComminiPix system won the Honorable Mention in New Business Applications in October of 2008. This is an international award, and illustrates the quality and relevance of this great product. James attended the awards ceremony in Chicago, and was amazed at how many of the award recipients from around the world wanted to learn more about the product and the people it helps.

The CommuniPix system won the Pinnacle Award at the Printing Industry of New England's Award of Excellence Program in the Digital Printing category.
